After we have opened our doors to making money transfers to Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, the Philippines and Vietnam, Sharemoney is now offering channels for sending remittances to Mexico! We have a list of partnering banks in Mexico that we are working with, in addition to the many cash pickup partners we have in the country. On our list for bank deposit partners, you will find BBVA Bancomer.
Below, you can learn how you can transfer money to this bank in Mexico when you are residing in the US!
About BBVA Bancomer
Established in 1932, BBVA Bancomer is considered Mexico’s largest bank with a clear domination of 20% of the entire banking industry. Part of its rich history came in 1982 when then President Jose Lopez Portillo nationalized Mexico’s banking system. To date, this bank is serving over 11 million clients through more than 1,700 branches and 4,200 ATM locations.

Our Money Delivery Methods to Mexico
Sending money to your loved ones in Mexico while using Sharemoney can be done in two ways. One is through bank deposit or bank transfers where we have partnered with the major banks in the country. The other option is to send money as cash to one of our various Cash Pickup partners in the country.
Sending Money to a BBVA Bancomer Bank Account
In order to access our bank deposit feature, you should create a free account with us first. Once you have done that, your phone number and email address which you have provided via the online application form will need to be verified.
Once verified, you can start sending money to your loved one’s BBVA Bancomer bank account right away. To learn more about how Sharemoney works, you can go here.
Paying for the Money Transfer
In order to use Sharemoney’s services to transfer money to a BBVA Bancomer account, you need to choose from one of the three funding options we have available.
- One is through the use of your debit card. This is the fastest option you can make use of when making money transfers to any of our accredited banks. No additional charges will be added, unlike the credit card method.
- Another option is through the use of your credit card account. We discourage this option since it may cost you an additional amount depending on your credit card issuer. This additional charge is not charged by us. Some credit card issuers apply additional charges to any international money transfer. However, if you are informed about the additional charges and still want to proceed, you are welcome to fund the transaction with a credit card. We recommend contacting your bank in advance and asking them if it is in their practice to apply that extra “cash advance” charge.
- Here is where the third option comes in – through your own bank account. When you choose this, you will have to wait for your bank account to be verified. Once verified (this can take up to 3 business days), your recipient will be able to receive the money within just 15 minutes (provided that you send money during the bank’s hours of operation, of course). This is a good option for those of you who don’t mind a potential 3-day delay for non-emergency money transfers.
Tracking Your Remittance to BBVA Bancomer via Sharemoney
Sharemoney makes sure you will have a convenient time not just from the point when you will create an account and make your money transfer but also up to that point when you can check your money’s whereabouts once you are done with your transactions. With that concern in mind, your every transaction will come with a unique Money Transfer Number (MTN) which you can key in through our US website. You can give this same number to your loved ones so they can check the remittance themselves through our global website.
